Redd Rock Alpacas
became a reality after many Saturday mornings of sitting in front of
the computer looking at these wonderful animals in cyberspace. “Redd”
Rock combines the first initials of each family member’s name.
Although Redd Rock Alpacas is a virtual farm at this time, we
recently made our first purchase of two lovely huacaya females and
couldn’t be happier. Our alpacas are staying at AlpacaNaca Farms in
Moyock, NC.
Redd Rock
started as a dream after my wife, who is a CPA, came home from a new
client that made items from the fleece of alpacas. I logged on to the
computer that night to see what an alpaca actually was and I was
hooked. Until recently, all my alpaca sightings had been strictly on
the Internet. One day, in June 2005, I woke up and decided it was time
to make that initial farm visit. It helps to have the children along
for these farm visits, especially in convincing my wife. After my
boys and I made a couple of farm visits, we finally convinced my wife
that she needed to experience the alpacas in person. After talking to
a few owners, she also was convinced that this was an investment
opportunity we could not pass up. The search was on for our first
purchase!
During my wife’s second
farm visit, we were fortunate to be there when a cria was born. We saw
the love and care that the owners showed toward these animals. My
family knew that we had found a connection to a lifestyle we could not
let slip by. So, we are now alpaca owners! Due to time and land
restraints, Redd Rock Alpacas is agisting at AlpacaNaca Farms
on the east coast of North Carolina near the beautiful Outer Banks. Our
alpacas are being brokered by Leslie Watson-Leake, and she is
available to provide you with all the necessary information you would
need about our alpacas.
Our
alpacas are from outstanding bloodlines and we will only breed with
carefully selected sires to achieve outstanding confirmation, fiber
and temperament. We are committed to maintaining quality bloodlines
in our breeding program.
